St Ann's Bay Hospital gets renovated facilities, new ambulance

ST ANN, Jamaica — Staff, patients and other stakeholders expressed joy today as the St Ann's Bay Regional Hospital officially opened its expanded operating theatre and a renovated male surgical ward. The hospital was also presented with a new ambulance.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Minister of Health Dr Christopher Tufton were present at the hospital for the ceremony.

The operating theatre was expanded at a cost of approximately $170 million provided by the National Health Fund; the male surgical ward was renovated at a cost of US$139, 000 by the American Friends of Jamaica, while the ambulance was purchased at a cost of J$6.3 million by the Tankweld Group. The ambulance was retrofitted in partnership with guardian Life at a cost of J$2.3 million.
