St Elizabeth police seize firearm, arrest man

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — A man was taken into police custody last night following the seizure of a Colt .45 pistol with a magazine containing seven .45 cartridges on Billy's Bay main road, Pedro Plains in St Elizabeth.

Reports from the Pedro Plains police are that about 10:45 pm, lawmen on patrol signalled the driver of a motor vehicle to stop and when he complied the firearm and ammunition were found during a subsequent search of the vehicle.

He was taken into custody; however his identity is being withheld at this time.
