ST JAMES, Jamaica — Detectives from the Lottery Scam Taskforce today charged a St James man with breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transaction)(Special Provisions) Act.

The police said 22-year-old Robert McFarlane, of Industry district, Somerton in the parish, was arrested during operations which took place between 11:30 am and 3:00 pm in his community.

Lawmen said McFarlane was among a group of men whose actions aroused the suspicion of officers.

The men were searched and a document containing identity information (lead sheet) was found on McFarlane's cellular phone. He was subsequently arrested and charged.

The police said his court date is being finalised.
