St James police seize firearm in Greenwood

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The St James police, yesterday, seized a 9mm Taurus pistol in Greenwood, St James and charged one man in connection with the seizure.

Reports from the police are that a team of officers conducted an operation in the area about 5:45 am and a search warrant was executed on a premises. During the search the weapon was found in a bedroom.

Four people were taken into custody and one subsequently charged for breaches of the Firearms Act.

He has been identified as 31-year-old Neveard Hamilton, otherwise called 'Ricky Rude' of Greenwood in the parish. The other three people were released, the police said.
