Taxi driver stabs passenger to death over fare

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A taxi driver yesterday evening stabbed a passenger to death along Hope Road in St Andrew, close to the Andrews Memorial Hospital, in what many callers are informing OBSERVER ONLINE was a dispute over taxi fare.

After being stabbed by the taxi driver, the passenger, whose name is as yet unknown, ran onto the hospital's compound where medical personnel started to treat him. However, he died soon after.

Police personnel at the Half Way Tree Police Station confirmed the incident but did not provide any additional information.
