KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services (TODSS) has appealed to its members in the public transport sector to be extra careful especially when working at night.

The TODSS said it has got reports of a target on taxi drivers, especially in St Catherine, where several operators have been held up and robbed of their vehicles.

The latest incident happened last night in Portmore where a well-known operator was robbed and his throat slashed.

“The sector is under siege from all angles with no ending in sight, " the TODSS said.

"We are urging sector members to be very vigilant in their operations and to refrain from carrying strange people at night and to communicate with other operators at all times,” TODSS said.
