Teen boy held with 19 bullets in August Town

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A teen boy was yesterday arrested in Bedward Gardens, located in August Town, St Andrew, after the police reportedly found 22 rounds of ammunition in a knapsack he was carrying.

It is said that the teen was among five males seated on an old motor car when the police went into the area on an operation.

According to the lawmen, the four men ran on seeing them; however the teen was stopped and searched. The police said 19 9mm rounds and three 5.56 rounds of ammunition were found in his knapsack.

He was subsequently arrested and charged with illegal possession of ammunition. His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.

The teen is scheduled to appear before the court at a later date.
