Teen held with AK47 in Papine

ST ANDREW, Jamaica — The police are reporting that a 16-year-old boy was arrested following the seizure of a firearm and ammunition in Land Lease, Papine in St Andrew yesterday.

According to police reports, around 6:45 pm a team of officers was operating in the area when they saw a teen that aroused suspicions.

He was subsequently searched and an AK47 rifle, fitted with a magazine containing 26 5.56 mm cartridges was reportedly seized.

The teen was taken into custody in relation to the seizure.
