Three men charged for shooting, arson in St Catherine

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Three men have been charged with several offences stemming from a case of shooting and arson in Brown's Hall, St Catherine on Wednesday, October 16, the police have reported.

Charged are 30-year-old Zane Smith, a construction worker of Brown's Hall, 29-year-old Demoy Dixon, a labourer of Bellefield district and Damion Wynter, of a St Catherine address.

Police reports are that the accused men went to the complainant's home about 8:48 pm and allegedly opened gunfire hitting him several times before setting his house ablaze. The complainant was taken to hospital where he was treated.

The men were later charged with arson, wounding with intent and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, the police said.
