Tour bus operator shot dead in Westmoreland

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — The Negril police are probing the death of a tour bus operator who was shot dead on the Whitehall main road in Westmoreland.

The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Akeino Saffrey of Whitehouse in the parish.

Reports are that about 8:15 am on Tuesday, Saffrey was attending to his vehicle when he was attacked by armed men who opened gunfire hitting him several times.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigations continue.
