KINGSTON, Jamaica – The police are advising attendees to the Jamaica Labour Party's (JLP) annual conference scheduled for Sunday that traffic flow changes will be in effect in the vicinity of the National Stadium.

The conference, which will be held at the National Arena starting at 10:00 am, will result in traffic changes effective from 8:00 am to facilitate the smooth staging of the event.

In addition, the police are cautioning that no firearms, knives, drugs, ice picks, machetes, long umbrellas, glass bottles or any other items that can be used to cause serious harm or injury, will be allowed inside the venue.

Arthur Wint Drive will be operated as a one-way, beginning at North Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue. In addition, the section of Arthur Wint Drive between the Bob Marley statue and the main entrance to the National Arena will be converted to a pedestrian-only zone.

Therefore, motorists travelling to the National Arena from the direction of Tom Redcam Avenue who wish to access the parking area at the top of Arthur Wint Drive must turn left onto Roosevelt Avenue, then right onto Stanton Terrace, then right onto Mountain View Avenue then make their way down Arthur Wint Drive.

Only vehicles conveying patrons to the conference will be allowed to turn from Mountain View Avenue onto Arthur Wint Drive. However, these vehicles will not be allowed to continue down Arthur Wint Drive, and must either park, or make their way back onto Mountain View Avenue and out of the area.

No parking will be allowed along the following roads: Arthur Wint Drive; Roosevelt Avenue; Stanton Terrace; Mountain View Avenue between Nannyville – Old Hope Road; Latham Avenue; and North Avenue

VIP's and officials will enter through gate E1 and park at the Indoor Sports Complex parking area.
The general public will park in the National Stadium car park.

After the event Arthur Wint Drive will be operated as one way from the stadium to Tom Redcam Avenue. Roosevelt Avenue will be operated as one way from the Stadium to Stanton Terrace.

Latham Avenue will be operated as one way from Roosevelt Avenue to Old Hope Road.
