KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Works Agency (NWA) has advised that Harbour Street in downtown Kingston will be reduced to asingle lane between Maiden Lane and Foster Lane this weekend.

The restriction, which will begin at 12:00 noon on Saturday and continue until 5:00 pm on Sunday, is to facilitate the excavation of the roadway to connect sewer mains along Harbour Street, the agency said in an advisory this morning.

It explained that the work being undertaken is to connect the sewer line of the newly constructed Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade building to the central sewer main. The construction project is being managed by NWA.

Motorists using the roadway during the period of restriction are being urged to proceed with caution and to heed the instructions of flag persons and posted warning signs.
