Transport operators push for fare increase

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services (TODSS) says it will be holding a press conference tomorrow, Thursday November 14, to push for an increase in fares, against the background of a sliding dollar.

“We are now at a cross-roads in terms of our operations; the conference will announce new steps to be taken in a bid to get Government to respond to our six-year cry for an increase in fares, TODSS said in a release today.

The press conference, scheduled for 1:00 pm at 2 Chelsea Ave in Kingston, will be attended by senior executive of TODSS as well as theJamaica Association of Transport Owners and Operatorsand other local transport associations, the release said.
