KINGSTON, Jamaica — The trial of Police Constable Rushton Hamilton got underway in the Home Circuit Court Thursday for the alleged murder of his reported underage lover.

Hamilton's case made headlines with the disappearance in 2008 of Jahneel Goulbourne, who was allegedly kidnapped from her Harbour View home in St Andrew.

Goulbourne's body is yet to be found.

Jahneel's sister gave evidence in chief today and was cross-examined by Hamilton's attorney Valerie Neita-Robertson.

The case took an early adjournment due to the unavailability of a juror for the afternoon sitting. The trial continues tomorrow.
