Two men fatally shot, firearm seized in Westmoreland

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica —Two unidentified men who allegedly entered a supermarket on Greater Georges Street in Westmoreland yesterday afternoon and robbed patrons/ workers of cash, cellular phones among other valuables, were fatally shot by a licensed firearm holder.

A 9mm pistol along with one round of ammunition was seized in the incident.

Reports from the Savannah-la-Mar police are that the two men armed with firearms allegedly entered a supermarket about 1:00 pm and robbed patrons/ workers.

They were confronted by a licensed firearm holder; who opened gunfire hitting both men.

The robbers ran from the store and the police were summoned.

Lawmen conducted a search of the area where both men were found with gunshot wounds. They were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
