KINGSTON, Jamaica — Lawmen from the Matilda's Corner Police Station say they have begun investigations into the shootings that claimed the lives of two men and the injuring of three others in two separate incidents in the Kingston 6 area yesterday.

Police report that Minott was standing along Barbican Road about 7:45 pm with a group of men when a motorcar drove up with armed men aboard.

Two men alighted from the vehicle and opened gunfire hitting Minott and another male.

Minott was pronounced dead at hospital and the other man admitted in a stable condition.

Then shortly after that incident another group of people were standing along Cedar Valley Road about 8:30 pm, when they were approached by a lone gunman who opened gunfire hitting three of the men, before escaping in a waiting motorcar, the police said.
