UPDATE: Police question man over nurse's murder

Another in custody in connection with deliveryman’s killing

ST MARY, Jamaica — Police officers in St Mary are now questioning a man about last night’s shooting death of registered nurse Shellion Pinnock-Lafayette of Farm Heights, Port Maria, in the parish.

The police report that about 10:30 pm, residents heard explosions and called them.  Upon their arrival, Lafayette, 30, was seen suffering from gunshot wounds in her motor car. She was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Lafayette, who worked at the Annotto Bay Hospital, died leaving two young children.

Meanwhile, detectives have also taken a man into custody in connection with the killing of Milton Lue of Breadnut Hill, St Ann, who was killed in Gayle, St Mary yesterday afternoon.

Lue was shot while he was making deliveries with a colleague in the community. 

Reports are that men allegedly hopped aboard the truck and opened fire, hitting the two. The colleague managed to escape and raised an alarm. 

The police were summoned and both men were taken to hospital where Lue was pronounced dead.
