KINGSTON, Jamaica — A jury has found St Thomas businessman Michael McLean guilty of murdering four women and two children 12 years ago in his home parish.

The 50-year-old businessman and chef is on trial for six counts of murder for allegedly killing his former girlfriend Terry-Ann Mohammed; her son, Jessie O'Gilvie; as well as her niece, Patrice Martin-McCool and her children, Lloyd McCool, Jihad McCool and Sean Chin in St Thomas in 2006.

The jurors — four women and three men — deliberated for just under four hours before the 50-year-old chef was found guilty on all six counts of murder in the Home Circuit Court a short while ago.

McLean, after the unanimous verdict on all counts was announced, kept looking at the ceiling and mumbling inaudibly.

The businessman will be sentenced on April 12 for the murder of his former girlfriend Terry-Ann Mohammed; her son, Jessie O'Gilvie; as well as her niece, Patrice Martin-McCool and her children, Lloyd McCool, Jihad McCool and Sean Chin in 2006.
