ST ANDREW, Jamaica - The National Water Commission (NWC) has advised that the King Weston water supply system in St Andrew is currently out of operation due to mechanical problems.

 Affected communities include: Sections of Bucky Plain, Belmont, Grant Hill, Florence Hill, Lawrence Tavern, Mount Ogle, Matthew Road, Toms River, Cokely and Johnny Ridge.

NWC says that trucked water will be provided to these areas until normal water supply is restored.

In the meantime customers served by the Hope Bay Treatment Plant in Portland are being advised that the disruption they are currently experiencing is a result of a broken 10-inch pipeline on the distribution network. 

The affected areas include:  Hope Bay, St Margaret’s Bay, Little, Spring Garden, Hermitage, Union, Union Hill, Hopefield, Canewood Road, Cooling Spring and Wydah.
