Water lock-off in Portmore today

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) says that it will be shutting down water supply to several sections of Portmore in St Catherine today, from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.

This disruption is being effected in order to carry out emergency repairs to broken transmission mains in two areas.

Areas to be affected: Bridgeport, Edgewater, Westchester, Independence City, Cumberland, Westmeade, Caymanas Site A & D, Garveymeade, Meadowvale, Watson Grove, Cedar Grove, Waterford, Portsmouth, West Bay Southboro, Mount Royal Estate, Hamilton Gardens, Christian Gardens, Newland Road and Hellshire Communities (Upperfort, Johnson Hill, Seafort, Sandhill and surrounding areas).

The company is further advising its customers to store water for use during the period of disruption.
