Wavell Hinds hosts sports forum in Hanover

HANOVER, Jamaica— Former West Indies batsman Wavell Hinds will host a sports forum at the Hopewell Multipurpose Complex in Hanover on Thursday, November 21.

Hinds, who is the current president of the West Indies Players Association will be joined by Acting Principal of Green Island High, Michael McIntosh, a certified IAAF coach; and Carole Beckford, sport journalist and marketer in presenting the forum, a release said.

The four-hour forum, dubbedMake Sports a part of your life,is aimed at primary and high school students, the presenters said, and will focus on the following topics:

  • How to prepare to be an athlete
  • How to stay in the 'game'
  • Balancing books and sports
  • Supporting Sport – How can I earn?
  • College and beyond — what to expect?
