Weekly Round-up: China warning… 94-y-o woman raped… Elaine Thompson weds

Saturday, November 09, 2019

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Top United States military official in the region, Admiral Craig Faller, on Wednesday listed China among countries which he said does not hold the values shared by Jamaica and America. His warning came two days after Prime Minister Andrew Holness told People's Republic of China President Xi Jinping during his first official visit to the Asian country that the aim of his trip was to strengthen the strategic relations between both countries.

On Thursday, a 94-year-old woman, who is also an amputee, was raped in Keith district, St Ann after a man reportedly entered her house by removing some window blades.

And in sport, Olympic gold medallist Elaine Thompson got married to former athlete and coach Derron Herah on Saturday, November 2 at Old Fort Bay in St Ann.
