Whyte second, through to 400m semi final

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaican Rosemarie Whyte ran a close race with American DeeDee Trotter to finish second and qualify for the semis in the women’s 400m.

Trotter completed the one lap race in 50.87 to Whytes’ 50.90.
