KINGSTON, Jamaica- Jamaica's Rosemarie Whyte finished third in 50.98 in the women's 400m semi-final one and is hopeful of a qualifying spot.
American sprinter Sanya Richards finished first in 50.07, Christine Ohuruogu was second 50.22.
