Windies beat England in T20 Super 8

KINGSTON, Jamaica - The West Indies sailed to a 15 run victory over defending champions England in their first match of the Twenty20 Super Eight at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium today.

The Windies won the toss and went to bat, setting 179 runs for five. England lost four batsmen on their way to reaching 164 runs.

Johnson Charles' 84 runs, Chris Gayle’s 58 runs and Ravi Rampaul’s two wickets while conceding 37 runs highlighted the Windies’ innings.

Charles was also named Man of the Match.

The Windies will face home team, Sri Lanka, at the same venue on Sunday.
