Woman's decapitated body found on Trelawny farm

TRELAWNY, Jamaica — The decapitated body of a female farmer was last night discovered on her farm in Parnassus, Trelawny, the police have reported.

She has been identified as 59-year-old Valarie Thompson of Hampshire Lane where her farm is located.

Reports from the Clarkes Town police are that about 8:30 pm, family members went in search of Thompson after being unable to reach her by cellular phone. They found her decapitated body on her farm and called the police.

The police team responded and forensic crime scene investigators revealed that Thompson's body had several chop wounds.

Detectives are now appealing to anyone with information that can assist them to contact the Falmouth Criminal Investigations Branch at 876-954-3073 or Crime Stop at 311.
