Woman arrested for smuggling ganja into prison

KINGSTON, Jamaica - A woman was arrested and charged yesterday after police found ganja in a slipper she took for a prisoner during visiting hours at the Gun Court Remand Centre.
Reports are that about 3:30pm, 20-year-old Suzan Gaynor of Love Lane, Kingston went to the Gun Court Remand Centre to visit a prisoner. During a search of the clothing she was taking for the prisoner the ganja was found hidden in the sole of a slipper.
Gaynor was subsequently arrested and charged for breaching the Corrections Act and for illegal possession of ganja. She is scheduled to appear in Court on Wednesday.
