Woman's body found in Yallahs Pond

ST THOMAS, Jamaica — The St Thomas police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman whose body was found floating in the Yallahs Pond yesterday with a wound to the back of the head.

The deceased has been identified as 59-year-old Melona Drisdale, otherwise called 'Apple' of Pondside district in the parish.

Reports from the police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) are that Drisdale's body was observed by a passerby about 7:00am who subsequently summoned the police.

Her body was fished from the water and a wound discovered to the back of the head.
