British man held with one pound of ganja at Sangster International Airport

ST JAMES, Jamaica — A British man was yesterday arrested following the seizure of a quantity of ganja at the Sangster International Airport in Montego bay, St James.

According to the police, 55-year-old Anslie Bernard, a truck driver of Birmingham, England, was about to board a flight destined for Manchester, England about 6:30 pm, when he was stopped and his suitcase searched in his presence.

During the search, ganja weighing approximately one pound was found. He was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of ganja, dealing in ganja and attempting to export ganja.

The drug has a street value of $4,000.

He is scheduled to appear before the St. James Parish Court on Friday, December 21.
