Parent shot dead outside Lannaman's Prep

KINGSTON, Jamaica— A man was shot dead this morning outside the Lannaman's Preparatory School in Kingston, moments after dropping off his son at the institution.

Reports reaching OBSERVER ONLINE are that Ainsley Foulkes took his son onto the school compound and was returning to his vehicle, which was parked across from the school gate, when explosions were heard.

The source said Folkes returned to the compound in search of help before collapsing. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The incident happened shortly after 7:30 am. It is also being reported that the deceased was a licensed firearm holder, however, his weapon cannot be found.
