Two cops hospitalised after shooting on Pear Lane

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Two policemen were this morning hospitalised following a shooting on Pear Lane, off Olympic Way in St Andrew.

OBSERVER ONLINE has been informed that the officers were travelling in an unmarked vehicle along the roadway about 11:20 am, when a man walked out into the street and opened gunfire at the vehicle.

One of the officers was shot while the second lawman sustained other injuries during the ordeal.

The shooting occurred less than an hour after another reported gun attack in the area. It is said that two people were shot and injured in that incident.

Investigators are currently processing the scene.
