Firearm and ammunition seized in Kingston Western Division

KINGSTON, JAMAICA - A team of officers attached to the Kingston Western Police Division seized a firearm and several rounds of ammunition during an operation on Oxford Street in the division on Wednesday, March 12.

One Thunder 9mm pistol with a magazine containing 12 rounds of ammunition were removed from the waistband of a man who is now is police custody. Two others escaped. The identity of the man in custody is being withheld pending further investigations.

Senior Superintendent in charge of the Division, Steve McGregor told OBSERVER ONLINE that while tension in the area has significantly subsided the police in the division will continue to be vigilant.
