BVI welcomes new G2K president

Tuesday, June 12, 2012

Dear Editor,

The British Virgin Island's chapter of Generation 2000 wishes to welcome the new president of G2K Mr Floyd Green. Based on his past contributions to this organisation - the professional affiliate of the Jamaica Labour Party - we are confident that he is imbued with the necessary leadership qualities that are necessary to improve on the growth that has been made by past presidents.

As we move to chart a new section in our history, we pledge allegiance first to Jamaica not by continuing on a tradition of indecisive politics, but producing a new type of politics that represents the true Jamaican spirit in keeping with our motto: "More than just politics". We stand resolute in this belief because it is in this state that we can accomplish comprehensive success in education, economics, health, and social services that bring about a better Jamaica.

To the outgoing president, Mr Delano Seiveright, your contributions must not go unobserved, and as such, it is only fit that we continue building an institution that you worked assiduously to hand over to Mr Green. We wish you all the best in your future political endeavour.

Ziggy Effion Lewis
