Bring back Bogle's statue

Thursday, October 11, 2012

Dear Editor,

Where is Paul Bogle's statue?

Come on, Jamaicans in authority, why are you turning your backs on a national symbol?

I can't help but reiterate that you are dragging the symbols of our national heroes to the lowest levels. You have given up your sanity and ignored the sacrifices made by our ancestors.

Is this the kind of behaviour you want our youth and future generations to emulate?

It's a downright disgrace to see such neglect. Where have the will and awareness of the people in authority gone?

Have they really fallen asleep? If so, I hope they will wake from their slumber, grab the bull by the horns and bring back Paul Bogle to the people of St Thomas and the rest of Jamaica, land we love.
