Cinemas charge too much

Friday, June 15, 2012

Dear Editor,

It is not just the burning of movies that is contributing to the decline in attendance at the cinemas. There is cable TV and there are also economic hardships.

Who is going to spend about $900 on average — not including transport — to attend the movies when they can take that amount of money and get them on DVDs from the guys on the road and, for the most part, the quality of these DVDs is good.

The operators of these cinemas are putting themselves out of business when they charge the public high prices. Do you know anyone who is willing to part with their money when they can get the same goods and services for less?
