Letters to the Editor

Deeply committed to Jamaica's development

Wednesday, February 01, 2012

Dear Editor,

I noted the headline in the Jamaica Observer of January 31 which is open to interpretation and could be misleading. A clarification is therefore necessary.

As is the protocol when there is a change of administration, I have offered my resignation as Jamaica's Ambassador to the United States of America, and advised that I would be willing to work with the new administration's timetable. In the meantime, as is the norm, I continue to execute my duties to the best of my ability.

Furthermore, I am deeply committed to Jamaica's development, and my record over many years of public service as well as that of an entrepreneur, reflects that commitment.

Audrey P Marks

Ambassador, Embassy of Jamaica
