Letters to the Editor

Homosexuality destroys family unit

Wednesday, September 01, 2010

Dear Editor,

This concerns the letter of August 20, "Include same-sex couples in Domestic Violence Act".

Maurice Tomlinson is incorrect in claiming that "same-sex couples are no more violence-prone than their straight counterparts". In seeking lawful protection for homosexuals, he also fails to mention that homosexual activity is against the law.

Homosexuality is not about "rights". It's about redefining truth and censuring all criticism so that militant homosexuals can be comfortable in their "lifestyle", without having to be disturbed by reality.

What the homosexual lobby and mass media will not tell you about homosexual behaviour is that it is abnormal, immoral and anti-life. It is not innate as some believe. The so-called "gay gene" has never been found.

They will also not tell you that scientific studies have proved that homosexuality is linked to paedophilia. For example, a 1992 study in the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy found that homosexual men are three times more likely than straight men to engage in paedophilia. A 1988 study of 229 convicted child molesters published in the Archives of Sexual Behaviour found that 86 per cent of paedophiles described themselves as homosexual or bisexual. Dr Richard Fitzgibbons, a US psychiatrist with vast experience in treating priests with paedophilia, has also stated: "Every priest whom I treated who was involved with children sexually had previously been involved in adult homosexual relationships."

Dr Michelle Cretella, a board member of the American College of Paediatricians also concluded from multiple studies that children reared by gay couples have gender confusion and are put at high risk for sexually transmitted diseases.

Cretella noted that homosexually behaving teens and young adults suffer increased rates of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, addictions and suicidal thoughts. In addition, boys who adopt a homosexual lifestyle because of the influence of their same-sex parents face a 30 per cent chance of being dead or HIV-positive by the age of 30.

At the core we are dealing here, not with "human rights" but with homosexuality and the destruction of the family unit — the fundamental cell of society.

If homosexuality is unnatural why does it occur amongst animals, birds, fish and reptiles?
Perhaps it is natures way of dealing with overpopulation. Gays do not reproduce.
Why are homophobic men titillated by the idea of gay women?

I think the only truthful moment from the haters on this page was when Donny S said: "To me homosexuality is gross,"
That's what this comes down to, doesn't it? The bible says a lot of things. How many animal sacrifices have you all made this year? When did you picket (or at least write an editorial or comment about) Red Lobster and selling shell fish, the eating of which was considered an abomination in your favorite book, Leviticus? Stone any adulterers lately? Na, only the gays get you goin

If he likes conservative Jamaican values, why doesn't he move there instead of writing letters from a liberal place like Canada?

When people want to make their wrong doings acceptable they start comparing it with other wrongs.
The bottom line is that whether one is worse than the other, they are all wrong. As far as homosexuality is concerned, God did not just call it wrong, He called it an abomination.

I can see the homosexual activists coming out to attack the messenger. My question for them is; how does gay marriage benefit children by denying them the right to a mother and a father?
.
Another question, if there is a so called "gay gene" how is it passed on since gays can't naturally reproduce? When we indulge in destructive behaviours and get called out for it, we get very angry. So it is no surprise that homosexuals get enraged when their unnatural behaviour is pointed out.

Let's not be hypoctritical about this. It's not only homosexuality that detroys family units. It's a combination of other isssues that does it.
Don't get me wrong. To me homosexuality is gross; and my Christian upbrining has taught me it's wrong; but putting all that aside, let's not pretend that homosexuality is more wrong than anything else. What about murder, corruption among other things?
Besides, how accurate are these studies and statistics?

I live in Canada/Toronto. The author, a Canadian must be comsumed with anger. Canada has one of the most progressive policies ensuring that gay people, couples and all enjoy the same freedom as everyone else, even gay adoption. I suspect that the author is trying to capitalize on Jamaica's homophobic views, which is challenging to do in Canada.

Well constructed article.
Is it too much to hope for considered researched critiques of articles /
letters such as this one instead of the now to be expected bulverism ?

It doesn't take a degree in physiology to appreciate that we aren't designed for homo relationships. Spurious slogans and sound bites don't change the scientific reality that homo relationships are devastating not inly from a psycho but also from a physio perspective. This isn't love it's hate! There is also no parallel with civil rights. This is outright rebellion against God's order, it's sin. We have to be loving but be firm in our conviction against this evil. Repent! God is still merciful.

YAWNN..this guy writes a lot of bull..he writes a lot in JA Observer & other foreign papers. His only topic is 'homosexuality', he literally jumps at hearing or seeing the word. He writes about nothing else, I think he has issues...

Wow, please stop spreading misinformation. Peadophilia and homosexuality are not linked; that's the overwhelming consensus among the psychiatric community. Even the Pope admitted that in 2008. Next you say homosexuality destroys families. Really? I'm pretty sure all the one-parent, unmarried, broken homes in Jamaica aren't homosexual. Finally, of course gay teens are more likely to be depressed with bigots spewing such venom about who they are. How can they cope? Don't spread fear.

Get on with the task ahead
