Letters to the Editor
We need Greg Christie
Wednesday, July 14, 2010
Dear Editor,
Contractor General Greg Christie, a patriotic Jamaican who epitomises honesty and integrity, has been a thorn in the sides of the JLP and PNP gangs that take turns in ruining Jamaica. Mr Christie's quest to rid our country of corrupt public officials goes contrary to what these gangs want.
It is far-fetched for Minister Vaz to suggest that "the controversial Christie could be causing competent and skilled Jamaicans to think twice before joining the public sector, for fear that their reputation could be damaged beyond repair by his office".
I believe that this is why we need Mr Christie. For contrary to what Mr Vaz thinks, only those "competent, skilled citizens" who are inclined to be crooked and corrupt would shy away from the public sector knowing Mr Christie will be watching them.
The public should be alert to the shenanigans of the JLP and PNP gangs and demand not only that Mr Christie's contract be renewed, but that the powers of the OCG be expanded and that the penalty for offences under the integrity statute be more severe. The sooner the JLP and PNP gangs realise that it is not business as usual, the better off our country will be.

So true Manley.

Mr Christie causes the same reaction in corrupt public officials that our Security Forces cause to criminals when apprehended, they wet themselves.
This man is a threat to corruption and politics as usual, it is good to see therefore that officials from both parties are offended. It means he's doing his job well.
Politicians who put our country first are happy with him and would seek to give him more teeth.
Jamaica NEEDS Mr Christie, WHICH POLITICIAN DOES JAMAICA NEED?
