Letters to the Editor
What's the point?
Tuesday, September 18, 2012
Dear Editor,
Having for the third year running paid to remove the leftover waste caused by the police burning confiscated drugs and other material on the beach at Ft Rocky, having written to the police commissioner and the Jamaica National Heritage Trust asking that this harmful practice cease, when we went to check the site on "the morning after beach clean-up", we saw a new burning pile.
What, I ask myself, is the point of all these agencies of the state with their multi-million dollar budgets? Surely it would be better simply to accept the truth - that there is no governance in Jamaica. It would certainly be cheaper.
I am beaten.
