When God decided to destroy the world...

Thursday, September 30, 2010

Dear Editor,

God looked at the world and He was disappointed. He shook His head as He saw he rampant corruption and the priest who had abused the little boys. And God decided to destroy the world.

Now, in Jamaica there was a little Rasta man, a true son of God. Therefore God decided that He would use this man in His scheme of things. One night, as the Rasta man prayed, God appeared to him and told him: "I am going to destroy this world and I want you to build an ark and to put in it two of each creature, and they will be saved and they will populate the new world afterwards."

"Now, I want you to understand that you have 60 days to build this ark, and as today is the 30th of September, on the 30th of November I will start the rains." And God went away.

Two weeks passed, and God again appeared to the Rasta man.

"What has happened? You had two weeks and you have not started to build that ark," God said.

"God, you must understand," the Rasta man cried, "I wanted to get the lumber to build the ark and there are some good trees in Hellshire, but when I went there to cut the trees, NEPA told me that I had to get a permit. So God, I went to St Thomas where there is good lumber, but the Jamaica Environment Trust told me that if I did not have a permit they would lock me up. And then, God, the JSPCA got on the case and they told me that I could not lock up the animals in the ark for 40 days, as the space was too small, and that I would be breaking the law.

"So God, I went to the Ministry of Commerce to get a permit to import the lumber, but they told me that I needed a Tax Compliance Certificate. So God, I went to the Inland Revenue Department and they told me that I needed to pay up all my NHT contributions, and my NIS payments, and my Education Tax, and my Income Tax, and my Property Tax, and that I must produce audited statements for the past three years, and that I must produce an estimate of the coming year's income, and that I must pay the estimated tax.

And then, God, someone reported me to the Office of the Contractor General and he said he had to have an investigation into why I had to build this ark, and he threatened me with a charge, God, he even called the DPP while I was there, to get me locked away.

And then, God, I needed a marine engineer from Scotland, but the Ministry of Labour told me that I had to get a work permit for him.

And the BITU and the NWU, God, decided that they needed to do a representational rights poll on any workers I hired to build the ark.

So you see, God, I don't think that this ark will be built before another 10 years."

And God smiled, and the little Rasta man was terrified, and a rainbow spread across the sky and God said "My son, I don't have to destroy this world, the politicians have done it for me."

@ Jaye Stone The topic is God not Hope. In God i put my trust i'm confident that mankind will survive b.c for God i have faith ! Mr. Jaye Stone GOD IS LOVE ! If you have even an ounce of love inside your heart then God exists within you. it is up to you..to make that connection. He said seek & you shall find. Knock & the door will be opened. You wont make that connection with God in a religion , church nor the bible or the Koran. Don't look on outside worldly statistics to relinquish your insight upon your inclinations towards God b.c that will ultimately lead up to your own demise. Whoever lives in love lives in God & God in him. Peace , love & God !

PL Bogle what is hope? And is there such a thing as false hope? Is hopr just a gamble? If the prospect of something is real, would you call it hope?

Perfect analogy. Bureaucrats, politicians, and governement regulation have destroyed private industry. This eventually leads to the death of the middle class and utimately the collapse of government. No one to tax and get money from. When you have no one paying taxes government will eventually collapse. Anarchy is around the corner.

Mankind is self destructive so if there is no god there is no hope for mankind ,very interesting...
