Letters to the Editor
Wignall and the CG
Tuesday, June 26, 2012
Dear Editor,
It is with alarm that I read Wignall's column in the June 24 Sunday Observer, "Why is the Contractor General howling at the moon?"While on the one hand he sprinkles accolades on the CG, congratulates him on his yeoman service and doggedness in search of the truth, on the other hand he castigates him for his less than stellar work.
Wignall unleashes his pen and slashes at Mr Christie and his office for their accomplishments. Although the CG might not have been able to bring to justice many of those who enjoy the perfume of corruption, he has been able to heighten the awareness of the public to the rottenness engulfing us.
With limited resources and a small but dedicated staff, Mr Christie has been able to strike fear in those whose insidious actions were never exposed to the light of day. As a result he has gained the respect and eternal appreciation of all decent Jamaicans. As Mr Wignall so graciously reminded us, such men often meet tragic ends in this country. We wish Mr Christie well.
