Dear Editor,

Just last weekend, about 11:00 pm, on my way home to Spanish Town, I witnessed the aftermath of a car accident.

Traffic had piled up, and those involved were already taken out of the vehicles.

Passersby had helped one man get on his feet; he was clearly in shock and had blood running from his head while his body threatened to give way.

There were no police or other emergency personnel on the scene.

This may not be uncommon at all; however, this was directly in front of the Ferry Police Station. With direct access to the road restricted, or even absent, the police were not able to respond to an emergency directly in front of their post. At the moment there is one way in and, from time to time, no way out. Their access would have been further hampered by the traffic built up in both directions of the road.

We look forward to multiple lanes and speedier access, at the same time the lack of seamless access to especially the lane leading to Spanish Town is of grave concern.
