In praise of Sister Ignatius

Friday, February 28, 2003

Dear Editor,
We thank the Almighty for Sister Ignatius. She is remembered in the daily prayers of hundreds of past students of Alpha Boys' School, and countless others, who had the good fortune of being with her over the years. She was a devoted, religious, Sister of Mercy - imparting her gifts of training and giving a helping hand to the under-privileged of our society.

Numerous graduates kept in touch with her. Some have attained fame while others achieved their ultimate goals and they remember her nurturing ways.

When those graduates, both local and abroad, visit with her at Alpha Boys', the place they regard as home, there is always a feeling of real happiness.
She has received national and international recognition and is always referred to in glowing terms by her past students who are scattered worldwide.

In keeping with her vows, Sister Ignatius faithfully followed the pattern and goals set by the founders of this home/school, leaving a solid foundation for others to follow in her footsteps.
We pray that Sister Ignatius will enjoy everlasting peace.

Guidance counsellor (Retired)
