Dear Editor,
Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller's speech at the final session of the PNP conference left me bewildered. Can anyone in their right mind say this was an excellent speech? It lacked sub-stance and smacked of a high level of arrogance.
I refuse to sit back and allow my country to sink deeper and deeper into despair. At no point in Prime Minister Simpson Miller's address did she give the slightest impression that she intends to turn Jamaica around. Instead, she focused largely on unfairly "cussing" the Opposition JLP, and puffing up failed ministers. Further, her announcement of a $635-million clean-up program-me is a gross waste of scarce public resources. After the six months of "cleaning up", what will happen? This programme only reinforced my view that Prime Minister Simpson Miller has in contrast to her pronounce-ments gone back to the politics of the old days. I urge sensible Jamaicans to reject this failing prime minister and seek to unite and get this ruling administration through the exit door.
