Funerals continue

Wednesday, November 04, 2009

Dear Editor,
As our politicians argue our funerals continue. Day by day someone's lifelong love is killed while politicians argue. Firearm holders are taken one by one while politicians argue. Children are raped and murdered while politicians argue. Taximen and private buses ignore the rules of the road while politicians argue. Scrap metal traders take public assets while politicians argue. Jamaica continues to fall apart while politicians argue.

Many will read this and think these statements blatantly unfair, but if you are brutally honest with yourself, if you are really patriotic, and if you only love this country, you must agree. As politicians argue the funerals continue.

Ask yourselves how many families you know that do not know someone who has been killed by an illegal gun. Then you will understand.
