Dear Editor,

The cricket playing countries should acknowledge the great spirit of the players of the West Indies cricket team currently playing a series against the touring England side.

The latest player of note being the young pacer Alzarri Joseph for showing tremendous courage in playing for the nation while keeping his grief aside, even after losing his beloved mother, Sharon, who breathed her last after prolonged illness. Joseph could have abandoned the game, which was not at all wrong, but he returned in hours after the calamity struck his family. He played for the team and they won the Test series. This West Indian cricketer has set an example of extraordinary sense of responsibility which should widely be applauded.
