Dear Editor,

In my letter to the editor published on February 13, 2018, titled 'Shameful, scandalous and disgraceful', I stated: “Provisions should be made in the budget to provide adequate assistance to all members of the forces, military as well as the police, who are injured in the line of duty.”

It seems that the shame and scandal is much deeper than is known to the public.

If we treat the defenders of our freedom and, hopefully, our safety, in this fashion, then Jamaica will become that “failed State” that some talk about.

If there is any decency left in our Government, this shameful state of affairs will be taken care of immediately.

Take care of our deserving public servants before securing the high fees of our commercial banks!
