Dear Editor,

In these days of madness we lift our hats to all the good motorists who do not drive recklessly and senselessly on our roads, and always display road manners.

We lift our hats to all the good policemen and women in Jamaica who are always setting good example, and whom we can confide in.

We lift our hats to all those who are not wrapped up and tangled up in the corruption web of Jamaica.

We lift our hats to those who are always practising self-control and are very patient, tolerant and kind.

We lift our hats to all the people who remember where they are coming from and do not look down on the less fortunate.

We lift our hats to those who do not give us a hostile look when we say “good morning”, “good afternoon” or “good evening” to them.

In these days of madness we lift our hats to all the men who do not physically abuse women.

We lift our hats to all the peacemakers, the lovers of peace, and the peacekeepers.

We lift our hats to all those who love and respect people more than material things.

We lift our hats to all the people who are not 'bad mind' and covetous against their fellow brothers and sisters.

And, finally, we lift our hats to those who do not take it for a joke to laugh at people who are ready to fight and to cut each other's throat.

So, all those who the hat fit, let them wear them in peace.
