'My body is only for my husband'

People Post

Friday, February 10, 2012

A Victoria's Secret model has revealed she has turned her back on modelling lingerie as it clashes with her Christian beliefs. Kylie Bisutti beat more than 10,000 hopefuls to win the Victoria's Secret Model Search. But after two years as a model for the company she says she has turned her back on showing off the sexy lingerie, as she believes only her husband should see her body. "Victoria's Secret was my absolutely biggest goal in life, and it was all I ever wanted career-wise. I actually loved it while I was there; it was so much fun and I had a blast," the California-born beauty told FOX411.

"But the more I was modelling lingerie, and lingerie isn't clothing, I just started becoming more uncomfortable with it because of my faith." Bisutti, 21, who married shortly before she won the model search in 2009, said she did not feel posing in sexy underwear was being a good role model. "My body should only be for my husband and it's just a sacred thing," she said. But she said joining models like Adriana Lima and Miranda Kerr as Victoria's Secret Angels on the catwalk wasn't as exciting as she had hoped. "It was pretty crazy because I finally achieved my biggest dream, the dream that I always wanted, but when I finally got it, it wasn't all that I thought it would be," she said. Bisutti said she plans to continue modelling, but wearing more clothes.

Two centimetres too wide?

A former winner of Holland's Next Top Model has claimed she was dropped by her modelling agency for having hips that were two centimetres too wide. Ananda Marchildon, who was awarded a three-year contract with Elite Models when she won the fourth season of the show in 2009, filed a lawsuit against the agency last week. The 25-year-old alleges that bookers expected models to have a maximum hip width of 90cm, and that she was let go because hers were too large at 92cm, Nymag.com reports.

She says that a booker told her that she had "a nice face, [but] a fat arse," and that she "never had it in her to become a top model because she was unsuitable for catwalk work." Marchildon's lawyers say that Elite fired the 25-year-old after just two of the three years she had been contracted to work with them. A response to the suit from a lawyer representing Elite indicates that Miss Marchildon's figure could well have been an issue when it came to finding her modelling work. They told Nymag.com: "It was impossible for Elite to find [Marchildon] modelling jobs since she wasn't in the required shape." The lawyer went on to explain that the couture labels that the agency provides models for create sample garments in one size only, and that is small — an issue that is beyond an agency's control.

Posh gowns for the Oscars

For a fashion designer to be handpicked by the world's top stars to be worn at one of the most important events of the year is an unmistakeable mark of success. And for Victoria Beckham, that day has arrived. The singer-turned-designer has reportedly been bombarded with requests from A-listers who want her to dress them for the Oscars. And now Victoria is said to be working round the clock in the run-up to the glamorous event, to be held later this month. Actresses including Gwyneth Paltrow, Charlize Theron and Cameron Diaz are among those reported to be keen on wearing one of her designs on the red carpet for Tinseltown's biggest night.

"We do have requests in from stylists for the Oscars, but as our team is so small we don't have the opportunity to custom-make dresses like the bigger fashion houses," a spokesman for Victoria Beckham told MailOnline. Victoria will be unveiling her latest collection at the ongoing New York fashion Week, where her presentation has fast become one of the hottest tickets of the week. Victoria, 37, has seen her popularity rise exponentially since launching her fashion brand, a partnership with showbiz mogul Simon Fuller, just three years ago. Her designs are frequently worn by some of the biggest international stars, including Drew Barrymore, Blake Lively, Mary J Blige and Elle Macpherson. The Oscars will take place in Los Angeles on Sunday February 26.
