160 The Wolseley

Sunday, July 22, 2012

SO...with many finalising travel arrangements for the United Kingdom, we take you to two of our fave London spots, perfect spots to unwind ahead of trekking down to the East End.

The Wolseley certainly lives up to its reputation of being the Sunday breakfast spot. It was a last-minute decision, but on the eve of my departure and with the Charles Louboutin show to catch, I was determined that they'd find a table for two. Indeed, they did and even found a better table to allow us to people-watch. Kate Moss is a fan of the restaurant, as are Sienna Miller, Jack Nicholson and Sting and Trudy.

Not being an egg eater certainly doesn't put you at a disadvantage, and several heads turned when my bagel, smoked salmon and cream cheese arrived with an impressive glass teapot of fresh mint. The mixed basket is a must and the selection of mini; croissant, pain au chocolat, Danish, amandine pain sucre au beurre normand and cannele bordelais are all freshly baked and delish.

Hunger pangs now subsided we digested the non-stop flow of patrons; the styling is certainly not Milan but the personalities definitely quirky and memorable.

The service is flawless and the bill won't upset further shopping plans.
